READLEY - Asbestos and Mesothelioma Support Group. North-east.

This years Action Mesothelioma Day 2022 by READLEY will be an evening event. Starting at 6pm on 1st July in the Gateshead mayoress parlour,, where there will be local press and photo opportunities. We will then go outside the civic centre for a minutes silence and a sponsored butterfly release as a symbol of hope, positivity and in remembrance and honour of the lives lost to mesothelioma. We are then hosting a speaker event in Jurys Inn, Quayside, where we will have some guest speakers doing presentations about mesothelioma and we are proud to also have a Patient speaking from their own perspective. We will then proceed to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge in time for it being lit up BLUE once again this year in honour of AMD. It is worth noting there are several other north east landmarks being lit up blue this year in honour of AMD 2022 as well. EVERYONE WELCOME .

We are raising awareness about mesothelioma by asking families to put a card in their windows provided by DAST explaining their support for AMD as well as lighting their homes blue, wearing blue etc.
We are holding an awareness event at Derby College, Chesterfield which is a centre of excellence for health and nursing courses on 1st July from 10.00am - 2.00pm. We are hoping to raise awareness about mesothelioma amongst younger people especially those who may be future medical professionals treating those people diagnosed with mesothelioma.

The East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group

The East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group 2022 Action Mesothelioma Day observance is taking place at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Angel Hill, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 1LS on Sunday 03 July, 2022 commencing at 12noon in the Pilgrims Garden followed by a Buffet Lunch in the St. Edmunds Room.

Attendance is free and as in previous years, all are welcome to attend. The event will last about 20mins. To comply with the Cathedral’s policy Revd. Sarah will attend to give a short speech and words of commemoration. There will also be awareness stands in the cloisters.

It is suggested that guests wear something blue on this occasion to mark Action Mesothelioma’s “Go Blue for Meso” Campaign.

Asbestos Awareness & Support Cymru

We re looking forward to bringing people together from across Wales to mark this important date in the calendar Action Mesothelioma Day Friday 1st July. Together with Sarah Morgan the MesotheliomaUK Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist & Project Lead for Wales we are welcoming patients and their families, and health and legal professionals and politicians to meet over an afternoon tea, and to participate in a our very first butterfly release. We are holding this in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire from 1.00pm - 4.00pm.

HASAG Asbestos Disease Support

Our 2022 Action Mesothelioma Day is at The Inn Lodge, Burrfields Road, Portsmouth, PO3 5HH from 11:30 on Friday 1st July.

We have 4 guest speakers.
• Kate Williams – a mesothelioma patient
• Doraid Alrifai – a Consultant from St Georges Trust
• Lee Wemyss – from DaSH-Global who have developed an app to support patients in the management of their cancer
• Rachel Thomas – a Mesothelioma Nurse Specialist

We will have a raffle; we already have some brilliant prizes donated.
Our sponsored butterfly release will be at midday.

Attendance is free, and all are welcome.

London Asbestos Support Awareness Group

We would like to invite you to join us on 1st July 2022 in recognition of those who have suffered, and are suffering from Mesothelioma. at
ARCA HALL, 3XR, 151 Ashford Rd, Canterbury CT1 3FA @ 14:00 - 16:00

Buffet and Cream Tea will be served along with refreshments. We have the absolute please to be entertained with live music by Mesothelioma sufferer Michelle Roszak, a talented music teacher and a fantastic pianist along with some of her older pupils. A raffle will also be held and our Blue Action Mesothelioma candles will be available.

We will be holding a 2 minute silence at 2.30pm in memory of those who have passed along with a remembrance book.

London Asbestos Support Awareness Group

We are holding 2 Action Meso Day Events.
We would like to invite you to join us on 29th June 2022 at The Boathouse, Barking, in recognition of those who have suffered, and are still suffering from Mesothelioma.
​There will be short presentations by some amazing guest speakers on an early detection project and CAPE campaign, patient stories, a magician, a raffle and Blue Action Mesothelioma candles available for Go Blue for Meso on 1st July 2022. There will also be a remembrance book for you to remember those who have passed.
There will be refreshments and a buffet.

Merseyside Asbestos Victim Support Group

Action Meso Day (AMD) is an annual mesothelioma awareness and fundraising day.

All proceeds raised at this event are donated to research into the treatment of Mesothelioma. Join us for; information stalls, raffles, buffet, dove release and an opportunity to meet the experts.

Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group (GMAVSG)

Our 2022 Action Mesothelioma Day event is at Lincoln Square (Manchester, M2 5LF) at 12 noon on Friday 1st July 2022.

The event consists of several short speeches, followed by a minute’s silence. After the minute’s silence, some of those who have lost a loved one will release doves in their memory. The event lasts about half an hour.

Many people donate to a charity for Action Mesothelioma Day. This year we’re raising money the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund and the National Centre for Mesothelioma Research. To donate, please post a cheque made payable to ‘GMAVSG’.
