action mesothelioma day 2021

ACTION MESO DAY OR AMD21

WATCH ON DEMAND BELOW

Originally live on Friday 2nd July 2021 – 12.30PM TO 1.30PM

Hosted by broadcaster, academic and peritoneal mesothelioma patient, Kate Williams.

Action Mesothelioma Day (shortened to Action Meso Day) was held live on Friday 2 July 2021, as a virtual event aimed at raising awareness about the asbestos related cancer, mesothelioma and inviting everyone to take action to eradicate this disease.

This year, ActionMeso will host a national virtual event including panel discussions, clinical trials updates and interesting facts and insights for anyone new to mesothelioma. We recognise and apologise for the technical issues on the Zoom call and we hope the on-demand recording available here eases some of the frustration we all felt.

The national virtual event will be held from 12.30pm to 1.30pm (details below). ActionMeso supporters, including support groups and charities, will be hosting their own activities before or after our national event.

ActionMeso 2022

Paul Cook on the plans for the rest of 2021 and how we want to go global for AMD2022!

Take Action!

Print out a My Action Board, write what you’re going to do to take action on mesothelioma and share it with everyone by turning on your camera and holding up your My Action Board.

We want to end of the event with a “sea of action” on screen.

Your action could be as simple as telling 10 people about mesothelioma and the dangers of asbestos.

Or following ActionMeso on social media, pledging to share and like our awareness-raising posts (use the #ActionMeso hashtag!).

Maybe you could hold a fundraiser for your favourite mesothelioma charity or support group?

We’d love you to write to your local political representative (MP, MSP or MSs) asking them how they will take action to remove asbestos from our public buildings.

You can find your local MP, MSP, MS, MLA, etc through TheyWorkForYou and write to them using WriteToThem.

Together we can make a difference.
